The Land

of the Man of Sand

In the Forest of Beauty there lives a man,

Full of time,

Spilling sand.

Man has a vision, Man has a plan,

Add to that,

Man has 2 hands.

[The Man of Sand]

“DreamMaker 1,

DreamMaker 2,

DreamMake a vision,

Forever and true.”

The Man of Sand builds

“The Land of the Man of Sand”

(Where everything happens withOUT a plan)

The Man of Sand is busy.

Everyday BUSY.

Building BUILDINGS,

Building BUILDINGS,

Building and building and building

BUILDINGS.

[The Man of Sand]

“The Land is for Man! All made of Sand!

I have a purpose!

I have a PLAN:

GRIND all the land, SHIFT all the sand,

To BUILD and to BUILD,

ALL THAT MAN CAN!”

The Land does not understand the Man of Sands plan.

The Land whispers to her

Oldest,

Dearest,

Closest friend the Wind,

All of her worries and wonders.

The whispering Wind comforts her

Oldest,

Dearest,

Closest friend the Land,

Reminding her:

[The Wind]

“YES, the Land does NOT belong to the Man,

YES, the Man belongs to the Land.”

The wise and watchful Wind whistles and warns:

[The Wind]

“YES, you are a Man, spilling out sand,

Yes, you can build,

Yes! You have plans,

And much of the Land will not follow your plan!”

“It is a plan that thinks ONLY of Man,

Grinding the forest into piles of sand.

Building and building,

All that you can.”

[The Man of Sand]

“If you blow down my buildings,

I will build them again!”

[The Wind]

“DreamMaker 1,

DreamMaker 2,

YES, there are many things that you canNOT do.”

“Can you...

Build us a river? NO!

Build us a tree? NO!”

“Build us a mountain, a flower, a bee? NO!”

“Build us adventure!

Build us the world!

Build us a boy?

Build us a girl? NO!”

“Yes! The most wonderful of things

DreamMakers canNOT make.

Tell us once more,

What makes building so great?”

[The Man of Sand]

“DreamMakers make SHAPES!

DreamMakers CREATE!

DreamMakers shift sand,

DreamMakers SandSCAPE!”

“Lets not forget what DreamMakers are for...”

.

.

.

“BUILDING!”

“BUILDING Buildings!

Building BUILDINGS!

Building and building and building,

BUILDINGS!"

The Man of Sand builds.

He builds...buildings.

The DreamMakers are busy,

Everyday busy.

Grinding Land,

Into Sand,

Shifting Sand,

Shaping Land...

DreamMakers work all day,

DreamMakers work all night,

Building BUILDINGS.

Building BUILDINGS.

Building and building and building BUILDINGS.

Is is LOUD.

The Man of Sand no longer hears the Winds warnings.

Each day the Land watches

And weeps.

Each night the Wind whistles and warns:

“Yes, the Land does NOT belong the Man,

Yes, the Man belongs to the Land.”

[The DreamMakers]

“Prank ChANG zOING, Oink gOink.”

The Man of Sand does not hear the Wind.

The Wind whistles LOUDER,

[The Wind]

Yes! THE LAND DOES NOT BELONG TO THE MAN!

Yes! THE MAN BELONGS TO THE LAND!

The Man does not hear the Winds warnings.

The Wind now understands,

That the Man does NOT understand.

The Man of Sand

Never had a plan,

Building and building,

Destroying the Land.

Is is getting late. Now is the time.

Listen close.

.

.

.

Can you hear it?

Tonight,

the Wind...
